Reading is very important to us here at St. Cuthbert's so over the year we will do lots of things to celebrate books and ensure children enjoy reading! Keep your eyes peeled!
Lockdown Reading Challenge!
Children and staff were asked to take a photograph of them reading in a relaxing, funny or unusual place during lockdown! The entries were collected and made into a short video for you to enjoy! Thank you to everyone who took part! Don't forget... KEEP READING!
Reading Area Challenge!
This year the teachers took part in a reading area challenge! They created a fun and inviting area for children to enjoy reading in their classroom! Take a look at some of them...
Book Advent Calendar!
We gave each class their very own Book Advent Calendar to enjoy during Advent! Each day/week of Advent they get to open the box and take out a book to enjoy!
World Book Day!
World Book Day was celebrated on the 5th March 2020!
Children had a wonderful time on World Book Day decorating a potato and buying themselves some new books! The creativity was unbelievable! Take a look!
Today children and teachers came to school wearing their pyjamas, slippers and dressing gowns! You can guess how comfortable we were! The day was organised to understand and promote the importance of a bedtime story so we enjoyed stories by the fire with cushions, blankets, hot chocolate and biscuits!

On Friday 6th March we welcomes M.T Saunders, who is a published author, into school. He writes books about his dog Monty who is a HUGE Newfoundland!
