A warm welcome to all our families starting with us in September 2020.
During these difficult and uncertain times we will post as much information about what we think you'll need to know. Keep your eyes on these pages!
Please be rest assured that we will support you as best we can.
At St Cuthbert's, we follow the Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum. All of our planning is currently centred around 7 Areas of Learning and 17 Early Learning Goals, the expected standard a 5 year old will reach, by the end of Reception.
However, the Early Years is currently under review and these are subject to change. For the time being, the areas of learning include;
- Personal, Social and Emotional Development
(Making Relationships, Managing Feelings and Behaviour, Self Confidence and Self Awareness)
- Physical Development
(Moving and Handling, Health and Self Care)
- Communication and Language
(Speaking, Understanding, Listening and Attention)
(Reading and Writing)
Number and Shape, Space and Measures
- Understanding the World
(People and Communities, The World, Technology)
- Expressive Art and Design
(Exploring and Using Media and Materials, Being Imaginative)
We will provide more information on this throughout the school year.
Sharing your child's learning...
At St. Cuthbert's we use an online learning journal called Tapestry to record your children's learning in Reception.
You will be given a username and password to access your child's journal once they start with us. This will allow you to see any photos and videos that have been taken of your child at school and read any observations that the EYFS team have made of them.
You will also be invited to add to your child's journal as the year progresses. Click the image below to take you to the Tapestry website for more information.
Routines and Timetables
An example of the Reception Class daily routine:
All Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 children are entitled to a free meal at lunchtime. This is called “Universal Free School Meals”. We encourage all of our children to access a hot meal at lunchtime as a way to try a broad range of healthy foods as well as to develop social skills. We will assist you as best we can with any children who are reluctant to eat/try new foods. Please see School Meals Tab under the "Parents" heading of the website for menus and further information.
Click the link below which will take you to the Uniform page on our website! It can be found under the Parent's drop down menu.
Breakfast and After School Clubs
